UMITE & ITE Manitoba Student Presentation Competition (E2-330)

Presentation Topic: Transportation projects (engineering or planning) - deadline for abstracts was March 21st, 2025

Cost: $0 for ITE members, non-members, and students

Prizes: 

  1. First Place: $300 + enter draw to ITE Canada Conference registration
  2. Second Place: $150 honorarium
  3. Third Place: $75 honorarium

This competition is well worth doing as there are prizes that you can win and people that you can meet within the transport industry. 

UMITE Technical Presentation - Mark Vogt (E2-125)

Mark Vogt, project engineer from WSP, will be presenting on the recent additions of bike lanes in Osborne Village. Mark will be taking us through an overview of a project's life cycle, as well as the role he fulfills in each phase as a transportation engineer. Stop by for some pizza, and to ask some questions about Mark's career and the industry he's thrived in!

UMITE will be having a Samosa Sale fundraiser on January 27th (Monday) from 10am-2pm. Stop by the Engineering Atrium and have a samosa that will be even more delicious the second time!

To further enhance your samosa eating experience, we will be serving our samosas in two batches. This will ensure our samosas can be sold hot and fresh for you. Batch #1: 10:00am and batch #2: 11:45am

UMITE Technical Speaker (E2-125)

UMITE is hosting their first dedicated technical speaker of the year, Steven Florko! Steven is a transportation engineer currently working for Morr Transportation Consulting, and will be presenting on his career and projects he is currently working on. Steven graduated from the University of Manitoba's Civil Engineering program in 2013, and has been working in the industry for over 10 years.

UMITE Traffic Bowl Info Session (E2-125)

Every year, UMITE sends a delegation to the ITE Canada conference in order to compete in the Traffic Bowl, a jeopardy-style trivia tournament where the winners get fame, prestige, and a chance to compete at the ITE International conference.
