UMITE Presidential Campaign (3 days)

MITE's Faculty Advisor, Dr. Babak Mehran, will be the Chief Returning Officer overseeing the election.

Nominations and voting for the roles of: 

• President 
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Community, Technical, and Social/Fundraising Chair positions

An online voting platform will be used to elect all positions for the 2025-2026 University of Manitoba Institute of Transportation Engineers Executive. The election timeline is as follows:

• March 17 – 23, 2025: Nomination period
• March 24 – 26, 2025: Presidential campaign - If desired, nominated candidates for President may campaign during the designated campaign period. 
• March 27 – 28, 2025: Presidential vote - Voting for the presidental position will take place over two days. If only one candidate is nominateed, they will be elected by a yes/no vote. 
• March 31 – April 2, 2025: General candidate campaign
• April 3 – 4, 2025: General election

After the President is elected, the campaign and election for the remaining executive positions will proceed according to the timeline above. The newly elected 2025-2026 executive will officially take office on September 3, 2025.
