ITE Manitoba April Luncheon (The Forks)

This month's talk will feature Alex Regiec from the City of Winnipeg's Public Works Department, who will present on the Transportation Master Plan 2050 - a long-term vision shaping how we move in Winnipeg. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from professionals working on the future of Winnipeg's transportation system, and to enjoy lunch at a unique downtown venue!

Location: The Event Space at The Forks, 1 Forks Market Road (2nd Floor, Main Terminal)

Cost: $15 for students (great price for lunch at The Forks)

 

UMITE Networking Night (King's Head Pub)

Join us at Kings Head Pub on Monday, March 24th from 6:00-8:00pm (or whenever conversations finish) to network with some of Winnipeg’s finest transportation professionals from both the public and private sector. You can even feel out any upcoming job opportunities for this summer.

UMITE Yet Another Empanada Sale

Finally, it’s UMITE’s last Empanada sale of the school year! Do you want to get your fix of deep-fried goodness close to campus, but are looking for something with more substance? Stop by the atrium from 11am-1pm Monday, March 24th to grab a hot, fresh Empanada! 1 for $4, 2 for $7, and 3 for $10. Options: Chicken, pork, or cheese only.

UMITE & ITE Manitoba Student Presentation Competition (E2-330)

Presentation Topic: Transportation projects (engineering or planning) - deadline for abstracts was March 21st, 2025

Cost: $0 for ITE members, non-members, and students

Prizes: 

  1. First Place: $300 + enter draw to ITE Canada Conference registration
  2. Second Place: $150 honorarium
  3. Third Place: $75 honorarium

This competition is well worth doing as there are prizes that you can win and people that you can meet within the transport industry. 

UMITE Technical Presentation - Mark Vogt (E2-125)

Mark Vogt, project engineer from WSP, will be presenting on the recent additions of bike lanes in Osborne Village. Mark will be taking us through an overview of a project's life cycle, as well as the role he fulfills in each phase as a transportation engineer. Stop by for some pizza, and to ask some questions about Mark's career and the industry he's thrived in!
