Note: this committee is generally not very active - they haven't met in years! But this could be the year they start meeting again...

Interesting fact: student members of committees can apply to have their involvement recognized on their Co-Curricular Record if they attend 66% of meetings.

You will be able to apply for bursaries in September at http://ugawards.eng.umanitoba.ca. Look for details in your cc email or on the Engineering Student Resources webpage. If you are considering applying for a bursary, make sure to apply for a Canada Student Loan this summer. You don't have to use the loan; the Federal government will assess your need, which will enhance your chances for receiving a bursary.

Email questions to engg_ug_awards@umanitoba.ca. If you forgot your password, choose 'reset your password' on the main page, enter your UMNetID and you'll be emailed a new password.

On Tuesday, June 8, 2010, you will be able to interact with the new Awards system at http://ugawards.eng.umanitoba.ca . You can view the awards without logging in, but you won’t be able to apply for any of them. To apply for awards, login with your UMNetID (the one you use for your CC mail account, e.g. umsurname5). The first time you use the system, choose 'Create Account', enter your UMNetID and the system will email you a password to use.

The UMES Executive Election Forum will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 in the EITC Atrium. Come hear statements by all of the candidates and ask questions of the people who could represent you next year!

The Great Engineering Pi-Throw 2010 is just around the corner! From February 22- 26 you can purchase whipped cream pies to be delivered to friends, professors, whoever you want, IN THE FACE! This year, all proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity.

Pies can be purchased in EITC or UC for $5. Please know the name of the person who you want pied, and where/when we can find them. Upon being informed a pie has directed at them, they may:
1) take the pie in the face
2) redirect the pie to someone else for $5
3) stop anyone from being pied for $10
4) choose to not participate

The Student Advocacy Office is hosting their annual Academic Integrity Week from February 22 - 26, 2010.
They will have information booths set up around campus, including one in EITC on Monday from 10am to 2pm.
