The Local Charity Challenge event is a charity challenge hosted by University of Manitoba's Engineering Society (UMES). We have created baskets of prizes together similar to a silent auction. Each basket is associated with a charity. We challenge anyone who wishes to participate to donate as much money to whichever charity they wish and send us proof of donation (a google form is attached). On April 18th, the participant who donated the most to each charity will win its associated basket.
Follow umes_eng on Instagram for updates on the event.
We have included such a wide range of products as this shows how it's possible to support local no matter the product. We hope to give these businesses more attention and grow their followings. By donating, sharing or showing your support for this event, you would help us with a 100% charitable fundraiser that is supporting small local businesses and young entrepreneurs in the community. With your help we can make this an even bigger and impactful event. Even the smallest donation will make a great impact!
For those who cannot donate, we have included a Giveaway basket that requires the participant to enter via Instagram. Full details will be on the Instagram post.
The total value of all the donations is nearly $2000!!!
A local business catalogue is in the works and will include all businesses that have donated to this event.

All donor’s instagrams and/or websites are attached to the descriptions of each basket. All descriptions of the non-profits/charities are taken directly from their websites.
