The Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES) is the national organization of all engineering student societies, representing over 51 000 undergraduate engineering students at 45 universities across Canada. The Federation is dedicated to helping all Canadian engineering students grow both academically and socially, while raising the profile of engineering students among the general public.
With its close partnerships with the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers (CCPE) and other professional bodies, the Federation provides student input on important educational and professional issues at the national level.
CFES Congress, the Federation's annual conference, provides an opportunity for engineering students from across Canada to meet and discuss important issues, and to decide upon the future direction and activities of the organization. This year, the University of Alberta is hosting CFES Congress from January 1st to 7th. The Federation also organizes many other services and activities, such as:
An annual event featuring competitions focusing on both the technical and non-technical skills of engineering students from across Canada. This year, the competition will take place at the University of Waterloo from March 6th to 9th.
Short summer courses focusing on areas beyond the regular engineering curriculum, such as communication and management skills.
A free bilingual, national magazine published three times annually. Written for Canadian engineering students, by Canadian engineering students.
